  • Resumption of Overnight Wet Utilities Work at Forest Hill Station

    What Work is Taking Place?

    Crews have been completing overnight wet utility and hydro utility installation work at Forest Hill Station since September 2018.  This work will continue through January 2019.  By the end of 2018, 95% of all utilities relocation and installation work at Forest Hill Station will have been completed.

    Beginning December 15, 2018, watermain chamber construction will begin on Eglinton Ave, north of Peveril Hill N.  Traffic in the vicinity of the work will be reduced to one lane only, alternating in each direction.  In January, crews will beging watermain chamber construction on Eglinton Ave, east of Bathurst St.

    While crews will endeavour to minimize disruption as best as possible, some noise can be expected.  Please contact the West Crosstown Community Office if noise mitigation is required.

    Hours of Work 

    • Resuming December 15 – 30, 2018
    • No planned overnight work on December 24 – 25, 2018
    • 9:00 p.m. (overnight) until 7:00 a.m., Monday through Sunday
    • Crews may not work every day during this period
    • Work may be delayed or extended due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather

What to Expect

  • Traffic on Eglinton Ave W will be reduced to one lane only, alternating in each direction
  • Trucks will access the laydown area via Peveril Hill N
  • Noise from construction activity and site lighting can be expected
  • Traffic will be controlled by a Paid Duty Officer and/or traffic control personnel
  • Delays can be expected when travelling through the intersection
